2003 SIlverado LT power mirror question

My poor old '89 Silverado got totalled because a silly young lady decided to make a left turn across two lanes of traffic without making sure that nothing was coming. So now I have no money in the bank and have a car payment as well. But I do have a 2003 Silverado LT which I recently bought privately.
I was playing around seeing how everything works and I checked the Foldaway mirrors. They worked just like the owner's manual said. The glass rotated down a bit and then the mirror housing folded in. When I folded them out the glass did not return to it's former position. I tried to adjust them using the left/right selector switch and the 4-way mirror control but it didn't work in any of the four positions for either of the two mirrors! (I have never previously tried to adjust the mirrors).

Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong? From using the foldaway feature it seems that the motor works and the glass can move. The left/right selector has to be in the neutral position for this operation. To adjust the mirrors the left/right selector has to be in the left or right position. Could it be this switch? Buying it has cleaned me out so I appreciate any replys as I might try and fix it myself.

My first post too!

Thanks,

David
