Default 2006 questions/comments

Well I just bought a 2006 5.3L LT crew cab with 19,000 miles on it.
I have been a Toyota fan since my first vehicle. I bought the Silverado because the ride is far superior to the Tundras.
I just did my first oil change. I did the oil change reset. My question is does anyone follow that feature to do oil changes? I have read that it calculates based on something like engine hours or something and not mileage.
Also can someone tell me how many grease fittings there are on the front end/driveshaft?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!!! You are correct, the truck's computer calculates the oil life by hours anduse, not bymiles. Not sure how any grease certs there are.

So here's a stupid question, I know there is a procedure for resetting the computer so it knows you've recently done an oil change, does removing the battery (for a couple of minutes while I was installing a new one) effect the computer, meaning did I inadvertantly reset my oil change data without knowing it when I installed a new battery a couple of months ago?

I would think not, but I am not completely sure.
