2006 vortex max No Oil Pressure when cold
I have a 2006 Chevy pu 6.0 Vortex max with 150k miles.
I have no oil pressure when I first start the engine. I know it's not the gauge or sensing unit. Engine starts to knock. If I raise rpm's to 1000, pressure will pick up. Once engine gets hot oil pressure is running 25 to 30 psi. At 2500 rpm pressure goes to 45 to 50 after it is hot. I've changed the oil and filter every 3000 miles since it was new. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! |

Was hoping for something simple. But figured it wasn't. |

Is the relief valve stuck open not up on the newer motors but aren't the pumps driven off the front of the crank
|
I changed the oil every 3000 miles.
Someone had already said something about the check valve being stuck. I really don't know. Once the oil is hot there isn't any problems. Everything seems nomal. |
How many miles on it?what oil have you been using?you might be able to get the relief valve without taking the pump off maybe some where around the harmonic balancer area on the pump housing
