3.42 rear end ratio help plz!! Plz read
Ok I just bought a 2011 Silverado with a 6.2 v8 and is equipped with 3.42 ratio rear ends. It's pretty torquey and has suitable power but I was wanting to add a cold air intake and a diablosport trinity programmer for now with the later addition of a supercharger (will be a yr or so) but I'm scared that if I add any hp to the already 403 hp that I have I will replacing ring gear and pinions in no time. Everyone I have talked to at the dealership that I bought it from seems to know nothing about a 3.42 ratio. Help me plz!!!!!!!!!!

Programmers aren't as effective as a custom tune, so do the cold air intake and go to one of the custom tune guys. The only thing good about a programmer is access to the computer to make tire size, odometer settings and get engine codes when something is amiss, but you buy something cheaper that will do that.

custom tune all the way...blackbearperformance.com. he can wake that beast up real fast. and the rear end will be fine unless you upgrade to bigger tires and decide to go wheelin

When u guys say custom tune, exactly wat is that. And yea I was goin to to put aftermarket wheels and 35 inch tires. I hope that doesn't junk the ring gear. But it will prob never go off road.
