4L60E transmission replacement question

4L60E transmission replacement question
I have a 95 K1500 4x4 with a 5.7 liter engine tied to a 4L60E transmission. I need to replace the transmission in this truck and I have a fitment question that I hope someone here may know. I can get a 4L60E from out of a 95 Blazer 2 wheel drive that was rolled. I know that this transmission is good, but I don't know if it will fit. I "assume" that it is behind a 4.3, but I have not found that to be true yet.
Could the bell housing be changed out with the one that I have now?
Is the 2WD and 4WD trannies the same, just without the tailshaft on the 4 WD truck?
Anyone know how I can find out?
Anyone know what the spline count on the input shaft is on a K1500 transmission?
I appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Brad

i know others will chime in, but im almost positive that its the same bellhousing and its a bolt on fit. im sure the crossmember from your truck will work, along with the stock lines and everything.

Thanks for the reply Cams 98 Silverado,
I did find out that the donor was bolted to a 4.3, but I am not yet sure if it was an S10 or a K5 blazer. One major difference that I see is that my bellhousing is two peice, but the top half is not bolt off. The donor transmission has a completely removable bell housing. The bellhousing appears to be shaped differently, as in, it looks smaller. Below is the donor that I want to put in a K1500 behind a 5.7. Anybody see any problems with this?

Thanks for your help guys, but I have found my answer. 95 was a unique year for the 4L60E and the transmission will fit fine if I don't plan to use my transfer case. 2wd are 30 spline and 4wd are 27.
Thanks,
Brad
