96 z71 transmission questions

I have a 96 z, 6" suspension lift 3" body, 22x14s with 40"s, 160k trans just went (converter started locking and unlocking but quit and stayed locked in then i went up a hill and it downshifted to 2nd, hit 3rd, but no lock up or 4th. Went about 4 miles and it got hot and puked 3 quarts of fluid) I am going to build the trans but need some info on beefing it up a little to handle the 40s. Would also like a nice, crisp, slightly more than firm shift. I've heard to put corvette servos, 8clutches instead of 6 in o.d. Drum, new ac delco epc turned up 1/4 turn, and a billet converter. Also on the early 4l60e, the tcc valve bore is usually elongated due to the valve being aluminum, correct? I've heard of 2 methods to solve this that also does away with the pwm and make it on/off, to simply put a diferent spring in, or boring the v.b and putting a new oversized steel valve with a different spring. What do you guys think?

Servos, converter(2800 is what I used), shift kit, deeper pan will help new clutches, solenoids if you want, 5 pinion olanetaries(OEM not china), transgo hardened separator plate, new red eagle band, 40k tranny cooler beast sunshell, new sungear while you're there. That's a list of things I just did to mine to beef it up. It's stout that's for sure. But first and foremost, what gears are you runnin? That's a heavy setup
