97' Z71 its not the alternator and not the battery but something drains the battery!

I have no idea what is doing it. Could it be a grounding issue?

check the vanity mirrors on the sun visors, make sure they are not on
also check the trailer harness for any shorting of pins that might be bent..

You got a car alarm?
Might wanna look there.

OH yeah see its my contractors truck im borrowing. He used to have a car alarm but it does not work now so could the wiring be shorting out one connection? If I remove it would it help?

Anything is possible when extra accessories are added to a vehicle, thou I would be careful so you don't cause the alarm system to inadvertently disable the vehicles ability to start.

I also know that someone he let borrow in the past tried to wire some system in all with a 105 alternator. LOL. Ill get this stupid short problem figured out. Thanks bud.

Should there be two spots on the terminal for a fuse?

Igotasilveradonstuff December 8th, 2010 12:55 PM

Yeah so it seems like the old alarm or something is preventing it from starting.... idk how to mess with that wiring. Thanks for your insight.
