98 silverado fuel problems
 
i have a 98 silverado 5.7 and im having fuel problems lately. ive replaced the fuel pump and relay ive cleaned grounds cleaned the tank and changed the filter i dont know what else could be the problem when i turn the key it just cranks the pump doesnt kick on itll run sometimes but after a couple hours it doesnt work again please help

Jump the terminals at the pump relay(look on the relay for terminal position) and listen for the pump to run. If it doesn't, go back to the tank and tap on it with a hammer to jar the pump. If it takes off and runs, Replace the pump. This is a very common symptom.

Did you buy an after market pump when you replaced it? The after market ones do cause problems like you describe. You should only use Delco or Delphi pumps. They are worth the extra money considering the work involved to replace one.

its an ac delco i replaced it earlier this week and i was having these problems before i replaced it
