Air Bag helper springs Question
 

I have air helper springs on my truck, they came with when i bought it but their is no compresser, just valve stems on the rear of the truck, I have no idea what brand they are, but was wondering if thier was a general rule of thumb as to how much air (psi) they could hold befor they blew up. right now I have 40 Psi in both and they seem to be doing just fine. It may also just depend on how much load Im towing or hauling

I have an 07 1500HD 4X4 chevy with air bags in the back. I dont have a compressor either, I run about 10-12 psi when I am empty and about 25 psi when I tow my holiday trailer with 1000lbs of tongue weight, if I remember correctly the install instructions said I could put about 75 psi in them when unloaded. My airbags are made by firestone, you could see if they say anything on their website as to what the max psi is. I would say put enough air in them so your truck rides in its normal stance when loaded. hopefully that helps

Depends on the airbag rating. For example, I run Air Lift 5000 bags and their recommendation is 1 psi for every 40 lbs of load, with a minimum of 5 psi at all times. Empty I run about 10 psi, and with the camper and jeep/trailer in tow I run about 65 psi... Max psi for my bags (and my last set) is 100 psi.

If you frequently run low psi (5 to 10), you should periodically inflate them to 50 or 60 psi to keep them in good shape... (so I've been told)... run them a day or so... then go back to normal use psi...
