Amp install
I'm looking to install a sub-woofer in my truck. I can't seem to find the hole in the firewall to put the power wire through. It looks like there is a spot under the brake master cylinder and also one by the blower for the a/c. I don't want to drill a hole in the firewall but if I have to I will. Can anyone help?

Make, year and model would surely help.... ;)
BTW--the problem with drilling a hole is the sharp edges over time from vibration will cut through the insulation covering the wire and it'll short out. There needs to be a "boot" that fits into the hole that adds protection from the metal edge. |

Sorry new to writing on forums. I thought it included that info. I have a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 5.7L.

What we usually do is cut a hole in the steering shaft boot, put the amp wires on a coat hanger and push them through. Works like a charm
