Brembo brake in standard callipers retainer clips
 

I have a 2010 Silverado 1500 that I just fitted with Brembo brake Pads and rotors on the front. The existing retainer clip metal leaver spring instead of sitting on a flat metal section seem to sit on a section of the brake pad that is slanted. I assume as the pad wears down the thin metal spring piece of the clip will start to connect with the rotor.

There were no different holding clips with the brembo pads. Do I need to order something different?

Brembo brakes are used by lots of racers, top-of-the-line stuff. However the spring clips should be resting clipped onto the top and bottom of the caliper before you install the pads.
I am not very clear about the slanted portion of the brake pad that you speak of. I would make sure that you indeed have the correct parts for your Silverado. Might be something on Youtube that will help you to make sure that you have all the right parts for your Chevy pickup's disk brakes. The Brembo pads I saw online came with new retainer/anti-noise metal clips

The only things that should be in contact with the rotors, are the brake pad surface material, usually ceramic with a racing pad like Brembo's and other brands too, like my Akebono pads. Are you perhaps speaking of the brake wear indicators, which will contact the rotors if the pads wear down that far, as that wont happen anytime soon, for many, many thousands of miles.
