Default broken door latch - how to disconnect?

'97 Z71 - I have a broken outside door latch (drivers side.) I have read about removing the inside door panel, and I do have it loose, but do not see how to remove it. With the window either up or down, I can't really see how to get the panel off. The glass is in the track, but I can't see how to actually disconnect and actually remove the panel to get to the latch.

I have the latch loose by reaching side and removing that inside bolt, but getting to the back of the latch to remove the clips to the rods looks like you have to have the inside panel removed completely with the window up. I can't seem to reach the clips from the outside of the door.

Looking for suggestions or instructions on what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks much

Frank
