Building pressure in gas tank

Building pressure in gas tank
On my 2005 avalanche, when I open the gas cap there is a lot of pressure, like vapor build up, or gas fumes. so much so that it is difficult to put gas in the truck. What would be the cause here? How can I fix this? Thanks
