Cab mounts, cab sagging
How difficult is it to replace the cab mounts? My cab is sagging on my 88, body lines do not line up any more. Thanks.

RE: Cab mounts, cab sagging
They're not too tuff to change out provided that you have a hoist and some good tools, the old bolts will most likely be corroded badly and the old hard rubber mounts will require some prying to get out.
Be careful not to bend the floor pan if you push against it with a jacking stand to gain some clearance to remove the old mounts. The main thing to remember is to finger tighten all the new mounts first and then go around and snug them all down and then go around again and tighten them. Normally about a 1-2 hour on a pick-up cab. Replacing the body mounts is one of the best (and least expensive) ways to get on the road to making it feel and look good again. |
