Cam swap question

I'm thinking about swapping out my cam in my 5.3, is it really necessary to change the pushrods and valve springs? This is the cam that I am thinking about: 54-424-11 - XFI RPM High Lift Hydraulic Roller Camshafts. Is there any type of cam that I wouldn't need to upgrade springs and pushrods? Thanks

Yes cause the valve springs won't hold up to the valve lift. You can get ls6 yellow springs though. Those will hold up and are a lot cheaper. Pushrods are recommended as well. Some people even do lifters. Do you plan on doin a converter and headers? That's how you get the most gains out of the cam. I have a 212/218 112 lsa cam. That one is a 212/218 115 it looks like. Won't hit peak power band till later, 3k rpm's and up. You really want a cam to hit peak quick, big truck to get movin. Cam/converters go hand in hand.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to change the springs because I was told the heads have to be removed for that and I heard it's a pain but if it's necessary then I'll definitely look into those
Ls6 springs, I already have longtubes with an x-pipe, I'm not too sure about a converter. What I really wanted the cam for is the sound because I don't want anything too crazy as this truck is driven daily. Thanks for the reply you always give the best advice.

YouTube a 212/218 112 lsa cam in a silverado. You'll hear a few. They sound awesome. Has a good lope and it's technically a baby cam. Also you can get a 2800 stall and it's about perfect, basically out of a trailblazer. Not the trailblazer ss, just a 4.2l trailblazer. They stall up to about 2600-2800 in a 4.8,5.3,6.0

I really know where to start, I have a spectre CAI and flowmasters right now its a 2wd crew short bed 6.0l LS 2500HD with Allison 1000 auto trans.. im more in to performance. speed. I don't wanna start with turbos or superchargers. so I figured "camming" was the way to go. what other info would you need. I know vehicles pretty good, but im new to "big" mods like this. any advice would help. thanks -john

and how much do you estimate it all would cost roughly.
