Default Cheap easy way to get HP?

Are there any cheap easy ways i could get more HP out of my 01 silverado? I already have a K&N cold air intake. Iv thought about a throttle body spacer but all the forums on them say they actually change the air flow in a way that you end up loosing hp. Any other options?

since im new to the chevy truck world this may not apply but my dad has an f150 and the ways he got more hp without going supercharger or anything real major was an exhaust an elecric fan kit (dont know if this is the same with chevy trucks or not) and a tuner he also changed all fluids to amsoil synthetic in the motor tranny and rear end. I don't know if any of that helps but I know thats some of the things he did that seemed to work well. Almost anything besides an intake will be slightly pricey although he watched around on ebay and ended up getting a brand new afe exhaust on there for $170 shipped

Horse power costs money.

There are no "cheap" ways to really get anything that you can effectively feel while driving.

Cold Air intake and high flow mandrel bent exhaust with a tune will probably net you a few HP......but that ain't "Cheap'

I realize that i will have to drop a pretty good amount of money to get what i want. My question is really more to the easiest way to get more horse power. I was considering getting a Crane Cam, which is only about $200. has anyone put one in a 99-02 silverado?

Do a tune first. Then see if that satisfies you. Stock for stock, a 5.3 will blow away a 5.4. Seen it many a times. Contact Justin at blackbearperformance.com

The best thing you can do for the least is basic maintenance, and using good gas.
Though as fpr an upgrade, Granatelli spark plug wires. 0-1 ohm of resistance
means the plugs get all the power the coil creates, and delivers it faster.

I flush seafoam through my vacuum line every oil change, and every other fillup
I will put in 16 oz of Marvel mystery oil into my gas. And another 16 oz in my oil 100-200 miles
Before I change my oil to free up all those nasty deposits.
And I will replace 1 qt of oil with a qt of Lucas oil treatment.

Also I only use 76 gas, sometimes Chevron. I only may use others if I'm on fumes and just enough to get where I need to go.

I just got my truck smogged and out of 100 needed to pass, I scored a 48.
they said for my year truck, they've never seen it that low.
especially cuz our trucks are supposedly notorious for failing idle emissions test.

change your spark plugs about every 40 - 50k miles.
