Chev 1987 Scottsdale

Hey guys, I just bought a 1987 scottsdale, it's got a 4 inch lift and a newer 350 smallblock crate engine in it. I'm not the best she it comes to mechanics but it always interested me! I want to start doing it up and modifying it.

I believe 87 was the first year for the throttle body injection. Would it be worth my time to Change that to a multi port fuel injection ? Is this a difficult task ?

I want to put a bigger engine in the truck but this would mean I would probably want to put a better transmission in the truck. This true ?

What would be the first few things any of your guys would do to a truck like this ?
Just looking for some opinions and suggestions !

Thanks !

Yes 87 was the first year for fuel inj. to change to TPI would be a big job. No matter what you do to it it is still an 87 truck. You dont say what trans you have but if it is a 700 R 4 they are not too durable in the stock set up. My advice is to drive it and save your money till you can buy what you want. And I just wasted my time and typing.

Money isn't an issue, I make alot of it. I'm looking for a learning experience and a cool project. If I were to put a 454 bigblock in it, what other mods would I have to make ? What's a good tranny for size of motor ?

Instead of replacing the motor , what are some ways I can get more power out of my 350 ?
