Does my Truck have rack and pinion? 2002

I'm not very savvy on auto mechanics so bare with me, I'm also new to the board. I have a 2002 Silverado 1500 4 x 4 with a 4.8 engine, my power steering pump will hold fluid for about 20 min or so and then it's gone. I was told it wasnt my power steering, I was told it was my gear box or rack and pinion? Like I said I'm not experienced on auto mechanics at all. Just wanted to know from those out there whether it would be my rack and pinion or is it a gear box. Appreciate as much help as you can give, thanks!

best thing is to clean it up and see where its leaking from. its not just going to disappear

If it's leaking that bad there has to be a puddle under the truck. Where is it leaking from when you look underneath there? that much fluid lost in that little time it has to be a major leak so you'll definitely be able to see where it's coming from. It will be basically squirting out.
