Engine Miss @ 2000 to 3000 RPM

Here the problem, At idle, truck runs great. When accelerating it does good. When you are at a steady speed truck cuts out and spits and sputters. It seems to do it inbetween 2 and 3 grand on the rpm. I have check plugs, Wires, Cap, New Cam shaft Sensor. Egr valve, the Map Sensor and dont know what to try next? The only code is the crank position sensor, but i am told this will not cause this problem. 97 350 vortec pickup

Might not help, but it never hurts to change the fuel filter.

What exactly is the OBD 2 code you are getting? I don’t suppose you have taken the distributor out lately? Or would there be any reason for the distributor to have been messed with? What you have described sounds like an experience I had onmy 96 C1500 5.0l. But I had taken the distributor out and tried to re-stab it without adjustment. I kept getting a crankshaft correlation error. The truck would idle, and accelerate okay, but it ran rough down the highway just intermittently missing. I ended up buying a tool to adjust the timing. It can’t be done with a light it has to be done with an analyzer device.

Let me know.
