exhaust sound
i have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 and quite frankly it sounds pretty wimpy. looking for a cost effective way of making it sound a lil better. at first thought of drilling holes in the exhaust... wondering where to drill and if it will sound ok?
 replies plz! |
I wouldnt do it, it probably wont sound very good, If your looking to do it the cheapest way, then go and get a cheap turbo muffler or glass pack and put in the place of you factory muffler
drilling holes makes it sound like crap!!!!!!! go buy a glasspack..they are less then $20 and they are loud...if i was going to do glasspack i would put just the glass pack on..nothing after it... it'll be loud if u want to spend a little money..buy flowmaster..i got a super 44 on my truck it it sound pretty good under acc. and on the highway
If you're going to get glasspacks, do it right and go with Thrush. For a good aggressive muffler (more tone than glasspacks), check out Flowmaster 40's and 44's. Magnaflow and Borla have some great mufflers too.
Magnaflow more drone. Flowmaster a bit less. Plo-pro nice and beafy without droan. Thats providing you have a 5.3 or a 6.0. If you have the smaller motor who knows what they will sound like.
what motor do you have?
i got a 5.3.... thx for all the replies... was thinking bout a cherry bomb exhaust. but idk
Cherry bomb will make it pop, and pop... and pop.
It all depends on what you like. |
i would suggest you tube some exhaust videos and see what sounds decent to you. just remember that when a motor is cold it will be louder. keep that in mind when and if you find a video you like.
thts a rlly good idea. ive heard some nice sounding cgerry bomb exhaust but i def. like glass packs too.
