Hi,My first post here! I haven't had a chevy product for 20 years, and even then it was a 67 Impala. So I am new to the chevy world and have a few questions.
I just bought a 1993 Z71 4wd with the 350 and 200k miles on it. Now I should mention this mainly my plow truck with the occasional Home Depot run (1000 miles per year). It seems a little tired. Now I know there are a billion 350's out there, will all of them swap in? As in, can I buy a 400hp 1975 rebuild and slap it in there, or a 1999 350? Or a 454 for that matter (bolt patterns match up etc)?

Also, trans mission. I have a heavy duty 2004r that I am pulling out of my 68 firebird, will it fit? What kind of trans do I have?

If the firebird has a 2004r, it was cobbled in there since they didn't come that way. No, it won't fit your truck.

Your truck came with a 4L60E short shaft.
