Going from diesel to gas.

Seriously considering selling my LBZ Duramax and going to a 1500 4x4 . I'm getting tired of being held up at the fuel pump!. Has been .70 + more for diesel. I don't tow anything heavier than, at the most, 4,000 lbs.

Would appreciate any and all feedback. Oh yea, leaning towards a 09 model.

Thanks!:confused Dave

You'll miss the power...but a gas can pull a 4,000 pound load fairly easy. 09 model, id get the vortec max package. With the 6.0 and 4:10 gears. My dad has it and with a 20 ft piped trailer loaded with 4 four wheelers and a bed full of stuff it still pulls it at 70 no problem. But he does have a tune and a intake that helps

Appreciate that, but what about the mileage? I rarely tow. Mostly a 18' aluminum boat.

In his 6.0 with 4:10 gears he gets like 12 on a good day with 33x12.5x20 toyo mt's. But his truck isn't tuned for the tires, intake, or exhaust

97 k1500 vortec 350. 3:73 gears, and 33in bfg mud tires. and i could pull it easy.

I agree with acer i have the same truck but with toyo mts and i pull an 18' aluminum fishin boat for 3 hours through canyons an such and the hardest part is remembering the boat is back there. and i get about 15mpg when im pullin i average 18 to 20 on regular highway. however i have never owned a deisel so i dont know how it would be to lose the extra power but for me my gas has plenty
