Having problems with my engine

I have a 1967 Chevy truck, has a transplant 350 custom engine. I am having troubles with getting it to even start now. I have re-timed it to TDC, replaced the points and condenser, new plug wires, coil and spark plugs. I just recently also re-built the carb and it seems to be working properly. The points are gapped at .019, the plugs are at .35. Is there anyone that can help me with figuring this out?

You didn't comment on if you change the rotor, this can cause problems. I have seen some that burned a hole into or through itself and not let the the spark plugs fire.

This may not be the problem as you commented that you had set the timing at TDC.

Just a maybe.

I didn't think about the rotor...It is fairly new but you're right, I have had those go out on me in the past after just a few miles. I will check it out. Thank you for the insight.

replaced cap and rotor, plug wires and yet another coil. Now I am finding that the resistor is getting hot. Is there any reason that this is happening?
