help buying a new truck

I am looking into buying a 2013 chevy Silverado that has a lift on it that the dealership used as a demo. The truck looked great when I test drove it except for a couple things. The biggest thing I noticed was rust on part of the engine. They say the truck is a brand new truck but you would think a brand new 2013 truck would not have any rust. Let me know what you think. I also have pictures in the wheel well of some wires that don't look right that I will also post.

if its hard to see if you look to the right of the oil cap there is rust.

2013 with lift

Hello bign,

You have doubts about somethings, don't waste your time and let this one go.

My thoughts.

Good luck,

:)

If you can get a great deal on the truck, I would not worry about the rust. look at some of the other trucks on the lot and see if they are like that. It is new but it has been around a while and most likely in the rain and dampness. It would get that way anyway after you bought it.

I don't see anything abnormal.

My truck looks the same way as far as the rust goes. If I were you, I would wait for the 2014's if you are looking for a new truck.

I can't say that I'm a truck expert...but I do have a basic knowledge and know that there shouldn't be rust on a brand new truck. Us salespeople call it "lot rot". Means that the dealership hasn't taken care of their inventory. BIGN1485 if you are anywhere near the bay area I'd love to sell you a truck that is in pristine condition. Our dealership has the largest truck inventory in Northern California AND NONE OF THEM HAVE LOT ROT! =)

In any case where ever you buy your truck, don't settle for something your unsure of. You wouldn't want issues later down the road.
