How many miles is too much for used 2011 Silverado

I'm interested in buying a used 2011 silverado, it has 70,000 miles on it. I feel like that is too much. That's like 23,000 a year assuming it was driven at the beginning of 2011. It's going for 22,000. It is 2,000 below kelly blue book.

Exterior and interior is in great condition. Too many miles though? What do you guys think?

That is a lot of miles. the most important things about that is was the truck well maintained by the previous owners? Was the oil and filter changed regularly? If it was well maintained then it will last a long time. Make a lower offer and see if he will accept it. He also knows the mileage is high.

I agree. The actual condition of the truck is more important than the miles. So it really depends on how it has been driven, maintained and where it's been driven.

Average is about 15k a year, but this may have been someone who commutes a long distance (I have friends who commute to the oil fields every other week, and it's a 12-14 hour drive each way). I agree, maintenance is far more important than mileage on this one.

Mileage is not the issue as to what the truck was doing during the drive. Was the truck pulling a 10k trailer. Loaded out with weight. Are service records available. Take samples of lubes and have them checked for metals. Have a mechanic you trust check suspension and compression on the cylinders. A good looking truck does not make it a good truck

Miles shmiles, it's a Chevy/GM product. I would jump in my 01 Yukon with 237,000 and drive across the country. As others have said, maintenance is the key.
