depends on the truck. i have a full k&n cold air intake with a edge evoltuion cs performance tuner. ive also got a 6 inch lift with 35s. With the intake I get 13.5, I havent calculated yet with the edge tuner. Honestly they are a good investment and from what ive been told your truck actually runs better and uses less gas and power to get moving. It all depends on what your looking for.

keep the stock box, drop in a good filter, and buy the air aid MIT intake tube. That's a cold air intake right there. you could drill a hole in the bottom of the intake box, through the steel plate and run some kind of tube to make it ram air. Don't buy a programmer. Not worth the money because they cost more than a custom tune, and a custom tune can do a whole lot more than a programmer can.

Put it like this, a custom tune, is tuned to your exact drivin habits. The tuner rides in the car with you, and tunes it while you drive. Would that better better than a generic out of the box tune that is generally mild compared to what a custom tune can bring to the table. I had a bullydog programmer on mine at one point. Even set on performance everything, it was nothin compared to the most mild custom tune I've had. I started out mild(87 octane tune) and now I have a 93 octane tune and won't look back. Saw a 3mpg increase with the tune over the programmer

Blackbearperformance.com or gowheatley.com. One of them will do it for ya, or find a dyno tune shop around you
