which kind of shocks should I get?
I've been looking around for a while now and I hear pro comps MX-6 are the best money can pay for but then i've heard a lot of good things about the Bilsteins and Ranchos. I go to my deer lease almost every weekend, especially during huntin season and my shocks at shot. Want one with great ride on and off road. NEED HELP!!

Whether you are looking for stock replacements or have a lift kit that doesn't give you the ride quality you'd prefer Bilsteins are probably your best bet. Pro comp doesn't have the best of quality, with Bilsteins it's guaranteed.

I've used Ranchos, and Monroes. They're both really good.
This is sort of a personal issue, it depends on how soft a ride you like. I personally like a firm ride, so I get the stronger gas shocks, like Monroe Gas Magnum LTs or the Rancho RS7000s-
Ask some folks who have used the Monroe "Reflex" Gas shock. It might be the compromise you're looking for.

I'm lookin for shocks for my 2500HD and am pretty set on the Ranchos. I've heard good things and the price is appealing. Are Edelbrocks worth the dough? How tough are shocks to replace yourself? I've never tried.

To North GA Frank,
I can do a set of four shocks in an afternoon, and I'm slow. They're not much of a challenge, but it's always fun going for the test ride when you're done.
