Default lower control arms

Has anyone replaced the lower control arm WITHOUT removing the torsion bars completely? I tried but the keys are siezed to the bars in the rear and was wondering if there was enough play to unbolt the control arms and drop them thus slide them toward the front to remove them. The Torsion bars are not siezed in the control arms. It looks like I might have to undo the bolts on the rear cross member and probably the tranny cross member to help provide some more slop.....
