Lurch when under 15 degrees

Greetings,

I have a 2009 4x4 silverado (5.3L) and whenever it is super cold (under 15 degrees over night), it Jerks when I put it into drive.

However, when I pull out of my driveway backwards, there is no Jerk. I then brake, and put it into drive and it Jerks forward.

It almost seems as though something is frozen and then the torque breaks the ice and it moves forward. (I know this is probably not the case, that is just what it feels like). Also, when I put it into drive the RPM's are below 1k, and you can feel the transmission engage, then when you hit the gas it revs up and jerks.

It only does this once, then I can put it into drive, back into park, and into drive again and this does not occur, even if it is done immediately afterwords.

My truck has just under 70k miles.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Patrick

Jerk is a better word than lurch. It jerks forward.
