manual transfer case difficult to get out of 4wd
HI all - New User here. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
I have a 2005 Silverado 5.3 4x4 with a manual 4x4 lever (not the push button with auto) 180,000 miles. 4wd works fine, but when I put the lever back to 2wd the 4wd light goes out, but it stays in 4wd. When I stop, back up, etc. I can unusually get it out, but it is difficult and other drivers don't quite get it. I would like assistance diagnosing. Acutator, transfer case motor, etc. All forums seem to be about push button systems. Thank you! |

Are you shifting out of 4wd to 2wd with the truck in motion?

Thanks for your reply. Yes - even re read the manual to make sure I was doing it correctly. I have owned a chevy 4wd for 20 years up here in the nasty NY winters.

Thanks Kevin. Doing that and other things gets it out, but I should not have to.
