Never thought the chevy would let me down

I recently posted a thread about what engine i should buy because my head was cracked, and instead of just replacing the heads I was gonna buy a new long block. I was burning some coolant, but most people said take it easy and you should be fine. Well driving from slidell back to Baton Rouge for school which is about a hour. I was driving and i heard a thunking sound so i turned the radio down. As soon as i let off the gas oil pressure dropped to about 10 pounds and i hurried up and got off at an exit. Soon as i stopped the truck barely wanted to run with a horrible knocking sound and if you haven't figured it out, she blew up. So now im looking for a long block and i would like to put the 5.3 back in there. I like what jasper engines had to offer. I appreciate to hear what yall have to say. Thanks

Damn, sorry to hear that.
Are you the original owner?
If no, it may have been abused from the prior owner.
My grandfather's Chevy has over 300,000 miles on the engine
And still runs very well.

Put an LS1 engine in!
They fit right up to our 4L60E trannys, you just need mounting brackets, headers and
an ecu to match!

It was owned by an old man but i mean that doesn't mean much because my grandpa drives around worse than i do. I know many people that have trucks like your grandpa does and i guess i just got a bad one but hell i take care of my truck but i ran her hard. I would really like to just get another motor ready to go instead of trying to drop a LS1 or another motor. I heard jasper engines has a good long block product and thats what I am really leaning towards. Thanks for the advice though

Motors from the dealer are prettyclose to the same price and the warrenty is much better. We use Jasper engines at work but only when they are no longer sold by the dealer. If you go with Jasper price the top off the line warrenty.
