New Guy Here, Having problems with my front axle not engaging
I have a 1999 Silverado Ext Cab 1500 Z-71 pickup that has been working just fine until recently when I was driving and went to put it into 4 low and I could hear when the xsfer case kicked but then I could feel there was no power in the front axle. What could cause this? I don't want to jump into this until I have some idea of what it could be thats causing this. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated guys. Is this a common problem? How would I go about finding out. If there are any details on what you would need to get a better idea I'm at your disposal I just really want to get my chevy workin right. Thank you very much!

i'd start with reading codes.
did your lights on the switch light up accordingly?
how fast were you "driving" when you tried to switch? 4lo is pretty darn low speed engagement.
might be just switch, might be actuator. might be transfer case. or all of the above.
of course, T-case and front diff fluids changed at regular intervals, aye, mate?
