No Heat Passenger Side Feet

My husband owns a 2000 3/4 ton - 6 liter which he loves more than life. The heat doesn't work on the passenger side floor. It blows cold air. In Minnesota winters, it's not fun to drive with him.

He brought it to the dealer and was told it was a very costly and detailed fix.

Any thoughts? Home remedies?

There should be a way to get in there and move the flap over so that it directs hot air to the passenger side. It will be too hot in the summer tho. maybe you can put some sort of mechanical wire or something in there that you can manually pull or push tho.

I recently had to fix the ignition key hole in my daughters jeep. It would stick and she could not turn the key to start the car. Dealer told me it would be at least a 500 dollar fix. I was able to fix it by taking the whole blasted thing apart and used a file to fix it for free.

Sometimes it just means taking it apart and looking at the problem. I am from ND so I know what you mean about cold feet. ;)
Good luck,

There are a few things that your husband can check himself:

Make sure that the cabin HVAC filters are clean.

Make sure that there is no obstruction to airflow (if it is blowing cold air then you're good here but if it isn't blowing then trouble).

Check for air leaks or improperly sealed (misaligned ducts).

Check for broken or binding linkages and doors.
If all of this looks good then the problem lies in either the HVAC controller or the mode selector module, you may want to pay the dealer a small fee to have them check for any DTC's that may be stored, this can help prevent replacing unnecessary parts.
