Offset rims on stock 1500

I have a 2011 stock 1500 4x4. Eventually I am going to do a 6" lift, but until then I want to just change my rims. I am looking to get the Fuel Octane 20x9 with -12 offset. Will they fit on my stock truck with 285/50R20 tires? I was told by a tire shop that they wouldn't fit, but they told me the same about my 2005 1500 and they fit just fine. I already have the tires on the truck, I'm just wondering about the offset. Thanks!

they'll probably fit, with minor rubbin on the back of the fender..but if you're gonna do a 6" then go ahead and get them and put them on

With relative high positive (for a truck) +25, the stock Silverado is best served by any aftermarket wheel that has a positive offset of some sort. Handling, turning circle, and bump steer are unaffected and 285 70R17 or 285 50R20 will fit nicely.

sorry i know this threads older and theres a lot of info on this but i was in the process of ordering rims, they have a +25 offset and are 17 x 8.5s i run 285-70-17 , i have a 2.5 levelling kit in the front, any chances they will rub, with stock rims now they seem to have a lot of room, but I am unsure of the difference and the on line seller gave me a oh yeah they should be good, so before i order would like some real advice
