yes the vent solenoid is by the spare/fuel tank area and it has a 2 wire plug but if you get the tsb part number you don't move the valve itself you just locate a filter box in a better area

Same issue here on my old 2006 and my new 2011, it is quite a pain. The problem is pump related though as I have switiched to a different pump at the station on the same visit and had no issues. To remedy the problem I have found that if I hold the nozzle out a little I can fill the tank.

Thought Id breathe a little life back in this thread with my solution to this problem. My 04 HD WOULD NOT take gas. No matter which gas pump I was at, no matter how I tilted or spun the gas nozzle or standing on my head etc, it has been a spoon feed to get a couple gallons in the tank over a several minute period. After reading this thread I ran to the auto parts store and had them read the code for my check engine light. Sure enough it was code P0455 like was mentioned earlier in this thread. The clerk handed me the EVAP vent solenoid and off I went. Get the truck on the rack at my buddy's house and the solenoid was the wrong part. So now I'm mad. I start eliminating the old solenoid and the charcoal filter that is connected to the fuel tank alltogether. I loosley bagged the ends of the hoses comming from the fuel tank and zip tied them as high as I could. Got up to the gas station and filled the tank about 80% full no problem. Ran down the road another 40 miles with no issues.

I'm all into eliminating unnecessary BS whenever possible. So is the elimination of the EVAP filter (big rectangular black box next to the fuel tank) and solenoid a detriment to the opperation of my truck?

ive had a similar problem in my 05 HD. it will spit gas out when I pump, but only when its close to empty. strange....
