05-06 silverado 1500 e-fans are the best, you'll need a 34" radiator out of the same truck as well(or a 00-06 Tahoe/suburban/2500HD), then a Blackbear harness and a tune from them as well. Overall around 250 for tune, 100 for the harness, and anywhere from 200-250 for the radiator and e-fans depending on the deal you get. Tune will no doubt be the biggest game changer though

Placebo effect, you want there to be a power difference so you think there is. Only longer shiftin patterns. Put it stock, take it to the track, put it back on, take it to the track again, compare times...good luck with it. I'd sell it for 250. Get your money back and then contact a real custom tune place.

Default Blackbear performance

Hi there.
I recently got rid of my 07 Z71 and purchased a 2011 crew cab silverado, 4.8L 4WD. I notice a small difference so far between the power of the two. The biggest problem with power is in 2nd gear where it lags alot which was the case with my 5.3L too.
My question is does anyone know if a blackbear performance tuner will help eliminate that problem? and also how much more power can it offer. I'm not looking for top end just more acceleration while going through the gears.
Thanks a lot.

I've heard by many that blackbear is the best that's why I ask about it. If anyone recommends others I'm open to new ideas. Thanks

Blackbear is top notch, a good custom tune from them can get you ~25 hp and The best part about it is the better driveability. He tunes a truck to YOUR drivin habits, not just a generic tune like a handheld

I'm kinda new to the whole process as this will be my first tuner. How do I go about this?

Go on his website... blackbearperformance.com. There's a form to fill out for a tune, ask him some questions about torque management and engine management, electric fans, shift firmness(vette servo), intake, headers if you want. Possibilities are endless
