Default Rear end differential

Hey, i have a 2000 chevy 1500 2WD, does anyone know if it is an open differential or limited slip, my truck is a LT2.

I dont know. Dealers in different regions order different options. I would research the VIN and get a build sheet from the dealer. They are extremely helpful when replacing parts and will be great for if and when you sell the truck.

are you planning to change the gears too? Seems like if you are, leave that to a professional. It is fairly complicated to change gears and the average D.I.Y.er can not do it. You have to set the right pinion depth, backlash, and you'll need a special run out meter.

alright ill take a look at it tmr morning.

I am not planning on changing gears i just want to put in a limited slip unless it already has it.

Where would i get a build sheet at? online? chevy dealer?
