I started to look through the computer this morning to find the bulletin or part number for the shim and got side tracked, I will try to remember to look again tomorrow. All it really is though is a copper washer that goes around the sensor before you put it back it. If it was rubbing then the shim will most likely fix your problem. Depending on how rubbed it is you may need to replace the sensor at the same time. I can post or email you the part number or bulletin number but I can not email the bulletin because All Data does not allow you to copy and paste to email. Depending on how long distance you are from my work I can print it and fax it.

It was a hectic day at work (extremely busy) so I did not have time to look. I did google "Chevy crank sensor shim" and found that the bulletin # is 02-06-04-059. I will hopefully look tomorrow for the part number.

The part # for the shim is 12562102

MDTAHOE you are the best! The shim did the trick, only needed one. I have owned this truck for eleven years and had a lot of different mechanics work on it here and there, but you were able to diagnose correctly from a written description of symptoms. Awesome, THANK YOU!!!

Great work MDTAHOE, sounds like a satisfied customer.

As Shop Foreman about 98% of the things that I do when I work on cars is computers, Failed emissions, poor performance and electrical problems. I get all the shi... no else has been able to fix. Due to my Boss' radio and TV show I get a lot of junk, half of the time someone has throw tons of parts at them. Based on your symptoms and what you had checked and replaced there really was not much left. Glad to have been a help.
