Default Sqealing After Replacing U-Joints

Hey there,

I just replaced the u-joints on the drive shaft from the t-case to the front diff, before I installed the drive shaft in to my truck I check to make sure it wasn't super stiff or binding on anything. It wasn't realy stiff but it moved pretty freely just very slightly stiff. Any ideas?

Thanks

did you take a grease gun and lube them?
If not, do NOT drive it until you do.
there should be a few grease gun nipples around your U joints IIRC

Yes I took a grease gun to it, I was hoping it would have the grease nipples on each cap and not just in one spot between two of the caps. As well as now I get like a WHOOP every time I drive it but only when i get above 70KM.Also on the front diff the rubber boot coming off it where the front drive shaft where the drive slides into the there was a zip tie i cut off to slide the drive shaft out, could it be that I may have put that zip tie a bit to tight?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hmmm...
I will let someone that's more familiar with it chime in.
I suppose you could try, but I can't picture in my head where you're talking about.

your not going to get a zip tie tighter than the band clamp that was originally on the prop shaft.

in 2wd the front prop shaft isn't driven; so your noise only happens in 4wd correct?
What year truck and what t-case would be helpful?

My truck is a 1999 Chevy Silverado 4WD EXT cab, As for the t-case I am unsure but it has auto 4WD mode. No it does it while in 2WD as well, I don't want to drive the truck and do some major damage to some thing.

Thanks

did you check the rear driveshaft u-joints?

was the noise there before replacing the u-joint on the front prop shaft?

I did check the rear drive shaft and the u-joints are fine and look fairly new as well. No it was not not there until i replaced the front u-joins.
