Default suspension upgrades

i bought an '04 silverado Z71 and now find a need for a heavier duty truck. is it easy to upgrade the suspension by swaping the shocks and springs for some from a 2500 series truck, and if so is it a matter of just taking off the old and bolting in the new?

Default RE: suspension upgrades

I have heard of people adding to the existing leaf springs with some success, also changing the shocks to coil-over may increase your load capability..But you will probably still have the same towing capacity due to engine/trans/rear-end config..
