I have a 2003 chevrolet 1500 4x4 with a 5.3 and i need to replace the upper and lower ball joints along with a inner tie rod end and a idler arm.
What i need to know is a procedure that will work to remove the upper and lower ball joints and if i can just press out the upper ball joint or do you have to have a whole replacement arm?
I have never done ball joints and i am mechanically inclined so i thought i would give this a shot to further my knowledge. so if anyone can throw in there 2 cents that would be great.

beat them out with a hammer. or rent the tool from autozone to do it with

try using a pickle fork. those work well with ball joints. and dont forget an alignment after everythings is replaced.

Thanks guys got er figured now. ended up just getting a ball joint press and that got er done just nicely.
