Default VIDEO sticky lifter? help please.

i changed oil last night and ran engine today and noticed this tick, not quite sure what it is or how to fix, any help would be apreciated. ticks mostly when on the throttle. thanks a ton!

ohhh damn that sounds bad. not sure if starting small will help there buddy.

Do they spec 0w-40 for marine use,my 5.7 vortec in my boat specs 15w-40 above 50degF,other than that sounds like a bad lifter

Pull the belt and see if the noise goes away.

If not, think ya might need an engine.

Sounds like the timing chain slapping. Hard to tell from a video. Could sound completely different in person

Change the oil again and use the factory recomended oil 5W-30. Also do you have the right filter? 0w-40 is the wrong oil...better than no oil but wrong just the same. imho.

My 96 5.0 has 267k on it and all I've ever used is Mobile-1 5W-30. engine is quiet and uses no oil between changes.

mastercraft reccomends 0w-40

It is in a boat. They use different weight oil then a truck motor. Even though it is a 8.1 GM motor it is a different beast.
