Want to clean my engine bay..

What's going on fellas, so I have a 2004 silverado and want to clean up my engine bay. Do I need to cover anything up? I know on my 71 nova I usto cover up the carb and dizzy..

You need to cover electrical items. Water and electricity do not mix well.

most of your electrical should be already sealed fairly well. just dont get in there with a pressure washer. might be wise to take the battery out to do the cleaning. let it sit for a day or two in the dry. I should do the same on my 88 k1500, but I cant let it sit, moved to a complex, cant do anything with water here.

Best way I found is buy cleaning foam spray let it sit for x amount and then start car/truck spray with garden hose or you can pay few car wash places

The alternator is not sealed and must be covered

I've powerwashed mine spraying everything including alternator and then started it and no issues.
