1988 Headlight switch problems
Having problems with the headlight switch on my truck, I cannot get all the lights to turn on! Ive replaced the switch 3 times and get the same issue. But by jumping the switch i can get them all to work (headlights, running lights dash lights/parking lights, but with a tester i can only get power out in 2 spots on my switch although i need 3. Any ideas?

you may need the pigtail and connector to the switch. check the contacts that plug into the switch are not loose and or rusty. If you can jump the switch there is a pretty solid chance your problem is in that connection.

took apart pigtail, cleaned it still nothing... argh im wondering if I in fact have gotten 3 bad switches I'm bypassing the connector all together and still can only get power out to 2 spots, Im pondering getting a giant toggle switch and saying @#^# it :-)

update. Have gone through 5 total switches. none burnt out or anything just getting the same power out in the same spots. is there a relay or something that's bad? my headlight relay seems to be good yet fyi. im just lacking power in the spot for the dash/rear running lights.
