Default 2-3 Shift flare, Need suggestions

So, my truck suddenly started flaring the 2-3 shift right before 4000RPM. flares up about 200RPM and then shifts fine. shifts are glass smooth, tranny fluid clean and at the right level. Doesnt flare up at WOT or if i drive really carefully. Flare seems to go away when warmed up, and completely goes away if i put truck into tow haul. tranny shops are stumped. I did romp on the truck last night pretty good, i know it has a adaptive transmission, i reset the computer by touching the two battery leads together and drove it 20 miles and the issue seemed to improve.. i yet to try again when cold but expect the problem to come right back knowing these transmissions. i can get a used 2003 Yukon tranny for 600 with 100K on it, 100 day warranty, and all the shops within a 100 mile radius want 2K to rebuild and install a corvette servo. im making payments on the truck and owe alot still.. any suggestions?

So after letting it warm up a few hours ago and driving it to town the issue seemed to go away, i let it sit in town a few hours, its -10 here, and it started flaring again. wouldnt that indicate a electrical issue or something? is the PCM trying to compensate? im at loss
