Default 2004 2500HD Stereo Replacement Problem.

I just replaced the factory head unit in my 2500hd. The install kit came with a single connector harness (typical of any install kit) and a separate single wire to run to a switched power source. This all worked fine and the radio turns on and functions without issue.. Except..

The output from the speakers are very low and hollow sounding. They where not with the factory unit.

My stock radio also has a second harness connector coming out. It is a two wire connector with a pink/blk and a orange (or brown hard to tell) blk wire coming out. Is it likely for this to be a trigger wire to a factory amp? If so, what wire is the trigger? If not, then what is it, why do my speakers give so little output and what am i supposed to do with this "spare" harness?

I am trying to avoid running new speaker wire direct to the speakers if i can help it.

Anyone have this info? In all the videos and pictures i can find i do not see this second harness in any of them.

Thanks,
Andy
