2006 Silverado Air conditioner Question please
My son recently lost his cooling on his 2006 Silverado ext cab 350(5.7?) pickup. He purchased the one line freon can with the little guage on it and was going to fill up the freon. When he stuck the line on and opened the can the guage shows around 150 lb's of pressure. He didn't think that any of the freon went in because of the pressure.
Anyone know if this pressure is to high and what to do to get it down to where he can put a can or two of freon in it?? If it's not to high does it just take longer to pull the freon in? Any help is appreciated. Dad |
the low side should be around 35-45. in order to add freon the car must be on and running the the a/c on and set at max a/c.

I berlieve thats how he had it but the pressure was to high. How do you get the pressure lower???
Thanks Dad |
His reading has to be with the compressor off which is completely irrelevant. The reading must be taken with the compressor on.
