It can be done... You need the computer, and Throttle Body off teh old engine. Other than that, I'm not sure what else you need.

i watched on a show (i forget what the name was) they dynoed a tbi 454 ss truck..it only pulled 200hp and like 225 lbs tq..... WAYYYY underpowered.. u might as well build te 350 to a 383 and be done with it!!!

ya but for the pric i think it would be alot cheaper to just throw heads and a cam on a 454 compared to building a 383 plus isnt piston slap realy hard on the longjevity of the block looking for a decent build with out spending a fortune

your thinking of horsepower tv on spike. it was the 3000 build between 460 and 454 and dude, thats what im doing in the coming years after i graduate. im gunna buy a 454 block, stroke it, mild add ons, and put it in my 98 silverado. as for a tbi 454, yes they were underpowered, in horsepower. the torque is where its at with those motors. they were built for torque, not horse. so with that block you have, heads and cam at a mild stage, with maybe a different stall converter will yield you much better results than a built 350 for the money. remember this saying.
"There ain't no replacement for Displacement".
ym buddy has a 460 bbf mild build in his 95 tang and uh... even though we estimate 470 horse, hes got oodles of torque. those motors were designed for torque. heres a pretty lil pic of the tang. Attachment 14216

tnaks could rember which one it was but the more i think about it and streetable wise i thinnk im just gonna build a badass 383 or 396 loike the 460 haha i got 5.0 turned into abad ass 348 sitting on an engine stand in the garge that in the sam stang would put that 460 to shame hahaha
