5.7 liter TBI distributor timming quistion
 

Can someone please help! I'm trying to install a new distributor in a 1993 silverado. I pulled the old distributor out without marking anything......dummmmmm I know. Anyway got #1 cly on tdc comp stroke,but i don't know whitch pin on the cap to point the rotor button at.

Make sure the distributor is fully seated and engaged with the oil pump and then you can rewire the distributor cap using the corresponding position on the distributor cap as your #1 plug and then wire the distributor following the firing order for the engine. When you set the timing make sure that you bypass the ECM in accordance with the information that will be on the sticker on your fan shroud.

Look in a repair manual to see where #1 is supposed to be. You can also look at another Chevy V8 to see where #1 is.
