6 CD Changer
I currently have a 2005 silverado z71 crew cab. I have the bose audio with a 6 disc cd changer. Yesterday I was using my cd player to play a cd and it up to this point it has always worked fine with no problems. This morning I got in my truck and I hit cd and it said no disc, when last night it had 6 disc in it. I hit the cd/aux button and it doesnt do anything. The player doesnt make any noises and it seems to be "dead". But the radio works fine and the xm works fine. Before I take it to the dealer I wanted to find out if this is common and if there is any quick fixes or if anyone had some troubleshooting ideas. I would greatly appreciate any help, I feel lost without my cd's. Thank you.

Is the disc icon on the radio illuminated? Does the radio display "Initializing" for about 30 seconds after you start the vehicle? The radio may just need to have the operating software reprogrammed. I encourage you to visit your local dealer; they will be able to assist you further. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me. Louis GM Customer Service |

When I hit the CD/AUX button it does nothing. Its acting like the cd player doesn't exist. Do you think this would be a software problem? It did say initializing one time but the message lasted about 15 seconds.

It's very possible it could be a software issue. It's difficult to say over the internet. Your certified technician will be able to offer additional information after an inspection of the vehicle. Louis GM Customer Service |

What about replacing the fuses under the hood? I was thinking maybe it's not getting enough power. I called GM and they want 90 dollars just to check it. That's outrageous. What do you think?
